Wargrave Women and Girls FC remain one of the largest female only football clubs in the country, with around 500 players, a feat that when the club started back in 2000, we could never have imagined.
Year on year the club has grown through the enthusiastic and professional approach of the army of parent coaches and volunteers.
23 years on we now field two Women’s teams and a development team, an U18’s team and age groups down to U8. Playing in the Southern Region Women’s Football League, Thames Valley Women’s League and Berkshire County Girls Football League.
Our club ethos is all about inclusiveness and enjoyment. At different ages and ability groups that can mean different things, but the end result is the same, happy players who want to play football and improve year on year. At Wargrave we believe we give those players the best possible opportunities to do this.
The facilities we have are second to none. Home games are played at Wargrave Recreational ground, where the pitches are lovingly maintained by a head groundsman, and training is on a superb 3G pitch at the Piggott School, also in Wargrave.
All the teams have at least one coach who are qualified to at least FA Level 1 and are continually encouraged to develop and improve their own skills in order to offer the girls/women the best coaching possible.
