**MATCH REPORT - U14 CUP QF***

Wargrave Warriors vs Marlow Girls

A wonderful 5-0 win for our girls today to take us through to the semi final of the U14 Cup. ?

Fantastic team effort with great performances across our whole squad today.

Too many to call out so let’s focus on the 5 goals as there were some belters.

⚽️ 1 - an own goal

Whilst the final touch was a Marlow one this was made by really great forward play from Belle driving from wide into the box and sending a great cross which Isla looked likely to tap in but their defender got there first.

⚽️ 2 - Isla

Great build up play. Isla’s first touch was to bring the ball inside the defender, set herself and then a delightful curling finish into the bottom right hand corner. Great skill and composed finish

⚽️ 3 - Lucy B

It was all Wargrave as we piled on the pressure but 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline and we made sure of the win with a some bright attacking play, the ball falling to Lucy B in the centre of the box who drove home with a powerful shot.

⚽️ 4 - Isla again

This was a really terrific team goal. Ellie started the move, chesting the ball down driving forward, riding a couple of challenges, neat pass to Ellen who played Jess in down the left.
Jess drove inside her full back into the box and laid the ball off for Isla to finish smartly over the keeper.

Classy play from our girls. Lovely pass and move football.

⚽️ 5 - Lucy G

Whilst that team goal was special, this one was all individual brilliance.

Lucy G had probed away all second half and when the ball reached her on she left edge of the box she produced a delicious lob that looped over a stranded goalkeeper and dipped under the crossbar to great delight.

There was time for a 6th and Lucy G was clearly in the mood driving forward, riding a couple of challenges and firing from the right hand side of the box across the keeper who made a terrific save onto the crossbar.

We clearly enjoyed playing on the slick 3G surface having grafted to a win on a pudding of a pitch in driving rain last time out.

And the girls showed a different side to their game with much better passing, some clever balls into space to run onto.

There was a real confident swagger in attacking desire which we look forward to seeing more of in the coming weeks!

Whilst we had many fab performances Ellie and Isla take the players of the match accolades today.

Ellie was everywhere today. A fantastic defensive performance and involved in our fab team goal.

Isla was busy all game in both midfield and attack with great touch, composure and 2 well taken goals
