Off to a winning start
A great pep talk from the sidelines had Wargrave starting strong, with the majority of possession. Blissett found herself 1v1 with the Brook House keeper in the first few minutes who made a brave block to deny the goal.
A few minutes later a fantastic ball from Cook found Nichol just outside the area who fired home Wargraves first goal of the season into the top corner.
10 minutes later it was Kirk's turn to score an almost identical goal following a great strike from outside the box.
Whitmee and McDonagh worked well together to win Wargrave a corner, which found dependable Richardson's head, who had no problem finding the back of the net.
Some strong play from Wargrave ensured they ended the half 3-0 up.
Brook House came out blazing in the second half, mirroring Wargraves quick 2 goals, again almost identical.
A flustered Wargrave managed to regain composure after a shaky start to the second half, seeing some great 1-2 passes between Blissett and Nichol working their way up the pitch only to be met with Brook Houses solid defensive line.
Whiteaker using her pace and Maskells shielding kept Wargrave out of danger.
Some well timed tackles from Whitmee the sliding queen, ensured Brook Houses attacks were kept at bay.
McDonagh twisting and turning kept Wargrave in possession. Richardson slotted the perfect ball through to Blissett only for Brook Houses keeper to deny her again, but Hawkes was quick on the hunt and slotted home goal number 4.
A final attempt from Brook House saw them win a free kick in the perfect spot, but it was no match for Harrington between the sticks, ending the game 4-2 to Wargrave.
Well done to everyone for the never ending energy on a very wet Sunday, it wouldn't be a Brook House battle if it wasn't hammering it down!
