Here are the 2019/20 season awards for the Under 11 Cyclones.
|Players Player||Fern Ainsworth|
|Coaches Player||Jocelyn Evans|
|Most Improved Player||Edie Turner|
Season Summary: Jocelyn re-joined us this year which we were delighted about. She has quietly improved week on week, and in the last few weeks of the season she started to flourish as one of our midfielders. She loves to dribble past players and plays with her head up, looking to create chances for her team mates to score. We cant wait to see how she gets on next season with more space to exploit, using her pace and skills to take on opponents.
Most Improved- Edie Turner- Edie has grown into a very dependable player, specifically in defence, where she makes it her mission to stop anyone getting a shot at goal. She has become a strong defender, using her pace to track back and tackle with great tenacity. Not only have her overall skills and game understanding improved she has become a true leader in defence. As we rotate players during the season she has always helped new players in defence to settle and play with confidence when under pressure. Calm and authoritative, completely reliable and another who will flourish in the 9-a-side games next year.
The Cyclones have a season of 2 halves as we changed teams after Christmas. However, the girls have come together and become great teammates over the season. This team comes from Caversham to Shiplake to Wargrave and they have had a very successful year. In December the girls won the Autumn trophy, winning the cup final in some style.
Fern Ainsworth has taken on the responsibility of goalkeeper and is rewarded for her commitment with the award of Players Player of the Year. We have had 6 new players join this team and they have all enjoyed playing and training with the squad. We look forward to seeing how the girls progress when we move to 9 a side next year
